Single piece of a philatelically high-quality First Day Cover (FDC) from Mongolia, issued on the occasion of the joint space flight between the Soviet Union and the Mongolian People's Republic within the framework of the Interkosmos program.
The cover is a genuine piece of space history: it commemorates the launch of the Soyuz 39 mission on March 22, 1981, during which Jügderdemidiin Gürragchaa, the first Mongolian cosmonaut, flew into space together with Soviet commander Vladimir Dzhanibekov. This mission symbolized the international cooperation of socialist countries in space exploration.
