With this catalogue, a new standard work of Austrian philately has been created that is indispensable for specialist collectors and the trade.
After more than 40 years, the popular area of local issues and provisional issues has been completely revised and presented in detail.

The area of local issues ranges from the official issues of the Vienna and Graz postal directorates to issues of individual post offices or authorities to private products and hoax issues.

The special catalogue therefore divides the issues into five categories:

- Issues of the postal directorates,
- Issues of individual post offices, not recognised but used for postal purposes,
- Issues of non-postal offices, but used,
- Issues of non-postal offices, not postally used,
- issues by private individuals, mostly fraudulent issues.

The individual issues are catalogued with all details, illustrated and priced. Not only the normal stamps are illustrated, but also the colour variants and all varieties. The plate errors, especially in the Vienna and Graz issues, are greatly enlarged, which makes comparison with the original much easier. In a number of cases, striking covers or postal stationery and proofs are also shown.

Auction results from recent years as well as stamp collectors and dealers familiar with this field helped to set the prices, which now reflect the current market situation.
