Austria 1908 – ANK 149 I – 35 heller Jubilee Issue Franz Joseph – Plate flaw “E ranziscus” – cancelled pair
Rare cancelled pair of the 35 heller denomination from the 1908 Jubilee issue commemorating “60 Years of Reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I”. Clearly visible plate flaw ANK 149 I “E ranziscus” – characterized by a misprinted or altered beginning of the word “FRANCISCUS”, where instead of “FR”, a distorted “E”-like character appears.
The two stamps form a cleanly cancelled pair with even, legible postmark, good color, and well-aligned perforations. Pairs with this flaw are considerably rarer than single stamps and are regarded as desirable variants by collectors of the Jubilee issue.
Highlights:
– Cancelled pair, not just a single
– Plate flaw “E ranziscus” – ANK 149 I
– Very attractive appearance, clearly visible flaw
– Classic Austrian philately / plate flaw variety
An attractive and collectible rarity for any specialized collection of the 1908 Jubilee Issue, plate flaws, or classic Austria.
